I received the following information for a kind, fellow eBayer; hope this is helpful! The pump you have is much more rare than a Martin & Swarts model 80. That does not make your pump worth more but it is defiantly more rare. I will try to attach photos. The M & S 80 came with different tops and faces. The faces you have, us collectors refer to as eight ball faces. I have Google Chrome and did an image search for your pump. I did “southwest model 40 gas pump” and nothing. Did “southwest model 45 gas pump” and two came up. If you do “martin & swarts model 80 gas pump” a bunch will show up. If the faces were missing they could have just used something that would worked. Anyway I was just passing information along. The restoration was done by Gas From The Past (see pictures). I do not know how long ago it was done. Pump is dated 1950 by Martin & Schwartz (last picture). Finish is really nice. The last 2 pictures show a couple very small imperfections. We can see 2 more light bulbs inside the top behind the Sky Chief logo, but couldn’t figure out how to change them! Measures about 88″ tall to top of globe; 72″ without globe x 16″ x 20″. I don’t know much about pumps; please let me know if you need more pictures or measurements or any other information. Please don’t be concerned if my prices seem. I’m in the process of closing booths in several flea markets and I’m in’overstock’ mode. Small enough to. Details and description of items as accurate and complete as possible.
