This is a reproduction of a TEXACO “Sky Chief” gasoline globe that was popular from the Thirties to Seventies. It is double sided, with glass faces. The housing is plastic and separates with 3 screws and nuts. This is handy if you want to turn the inserts 180° and hang the globe from a ceiling light.
